Cracking the Cosmic Code, Part 2

In Part 1 of this series, I focused on metaphysics/ontology, the first branch of the 5-branch system of classical philosophy -- metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, politics, esthetics – that Ayn Rand identifies as her philosophical hierarchy. Although I resonate with this 5-branch system, I do not resonate with all of Rand’s viewpoints in relation to each branch -- and as made clear in Part 1 of this series, this particularly holds true regarding metaphysics, which unlike Rand, I marry with spiritual ontology.

In Part 2, I will focus on epistemology as it pertains to “cracking the cosmic code.” Epistemology is the branch of philosophy that considers how man acquires and validates knowledge. Scores of academic texts have been written on this subject, but none along the lines of this brief essay, which focuses on epistemology as it pertains to “waking up.” Moreover, although I have great regard for Rand’s seminal text “Introduction to Objectivist Epistemology,” and highly recommend it for all truth seekers, the epistemology I espouse here will only be tangentially along the lines of Rand’s.

First off, in order to acquire cognitive knowledge that applies to “waking up” on all levels – one must be willing to consider “painful” realities. Metaphysically, or spiritually, one must recognize that, due to one’s psychical “programming” on multiple levels – astral, karmic, parental/familial, religious, scholastic, socio-cultural, etc. – one is “imprisoned” in a continuum of binding thought-forms and habit-energies that contract one’s natively free (and happy) field of pure awareness into one constricted state of “impure” consciousness after another. The renowned mystic George Gurdjieff (1877-1949) summarizes this recognition thus: “If you are to get out of prison the first thing you must realize is you are in prison.”

Secondly, one must acquire the means, the technical and esoteric methodologies, for breaking out of one’s psychical prison. One must be able to identify, and then implement, the disciplines that “crack the code” of the self-contraction, or psychical “pain-body.”

In addition to identifying one’s own psychical imprisonment and observing the same in others, one seeking to awaken on all levels must also see “the prison” on a socio-cultural and political level. A truly radical (or gone-to-the root) thinker will have to confront the fact that their government, the State, is an Evil, Fascist, Neo-Marxist Abomination at (undeclared) war against Sovereign Man. He will realize that Big Government is indirectly “owned” by the International Banksters and Multi-National Corporations. And this socio-cultural and political prison (perpetuated through fascist laws) extends to all levels of government (state, local, etc.), and pervades the general social order.

When one acquires radical insight -- cognitive knowledge pertaining to self-, other-, and socio-political “imprisonment” -- how can one validate this knowledge? Through self-evident evidence. Once the “eye” of one’s awareness has been opened, direct “seeing’ into “imprisonment’ on every level becomes a natural faculty of one’s consciousness.
