A Change of Mind

by L. Ron Gardner

I am currently editing my forthcoming novel—“Kill Jesus”—in conjunction with a professional editor, and when I’m done with this task, I will resume work on my next book-- “Integral Buddhism.” I had thought that my next book would be one on meditation, but I’ve changed my mind. I’ve been reading a lot of Buddhism books lately—and finding fault with all of them—and this has motivated me to right away write my own book on the subject. Barring unforseen circumstances, “Integral Buddhism” will be available about a year from now.

I’ve written several pages of a book on meditation, but my heart is not into this project. I’ll eventually write not just one, but at least a few, books on meditation, but not right now. I actually have plans for four separate books on meditation, but the fact that my mind keeps dwelling on ideas for a Buddhism book convinced me to write this book first. This book will be much more enjoyable to write than one purely on meditation, because it will enable me to focus on comparative spiritual philosophy, my first love.

Just as my book “Electrical Christianity” is a revolutionary guide to Christian mysticism, “Integral Buddhism” will be likewise be one to Buddhadharma. As I write the book, I will provide periodic updates on my progress and some excerpts from the manuscript.
